I’ve become convinced that all major acheivement comes from the ability to dream… to imagine a reality beyond your current situation. Advancement is damned near impossible when you’re worried about what you’re going to eat, what you’re going to wear or where you’re going to live. This is poverty’s real trap – so much energy and focus can be spent on survival that there is little to no focus on tomorrow. Life devolves into being consumed with your next meal, your next rent payment, whether you’ve got enough gas to make it to work tomorrow. Worry robs you everything outside of your small world.
Here’s where you (as a Believer) are supposed to have an unfair advantage in life… you are free to never worry about what the next day brings no matter what! Understand that your victory is assured no matter what. Even things that appear to be “bad” in your eyes, are really good because the Lord has not finished his work in you nor in your life. According to Romans 8:28 (among other passages), God has his children accounted for in His plan. If you love God and are called according to His purpose, in Christ, He promises that He works all things together for your good. Always.
You are able to operate totally free from worry! You can pray free from worry. You can dream free from worry. You can take action free from worry. You can risk free from worry. You can sleep at night, enjoy your family, resist the urge to be a workaholic, alcoholic, control freak or all of the above because you are worry free! Trusting Him is freedom. Trusting Him is peace. Trusting Him is your secret weapon to take more chances, dream bigger dreams and enjoy more of life. After all, what do you have to be anxious about? NOTHING!
I used to have a plaque on my wall that read “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” I’ve often thought that I need to find or make another. I don’t know what happened to that one, but it served as a great reminder to me in the past. Let it be a reminder to you, as well, that you can trust Him with everything concerning you. He is dependable.
