Be in or be out. If you’re going to be in, be all the way in! – Thaddeus Eastland

Be in or be out. Be ALL the way in or be out. I love this quote!

I also love this somewhat cheesy quote: “Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.”

I see so many people stifle their enthusiasm about people, about events, about themselves and their future and even their love. They say things like “Today has been great… so far.” or “I actually enjoyed that movie.” (The actually is inserted to imply that we would not normally enjoy such a thing.)  Worse, they misapply some scripture about guarding their hearts by using it as an excuse to fail to commit.  It’s like someone is going to punish them for showing genuine joy and excitement about something or someone.

Are you going to be Eeyore or Tigger or Pooh? That’s really the question. What do I mean?

A lot of people don’t realize that Winnie the Pooh was written as a philosophical treatise. Winnie the Pooh is the middle between two extremes. He gets excited. He gets sad. Mostly he takes life as it comes. Eeyore is extremely gloomy no matter what. Tigger is always excited. Tigger is always cheery. I don’t think you need to be Tigger all the time. On the contrary, I think too many of us embrace the Eeyore and it’s costing us far more than if we took on either of the other characters’ qualities. No passion. No excitement. No joy. Eeyore sees the worst of the worst in everything and in everybody.

Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.” I believe this covers great companies, great ministries, great health and even great relationships! Let more of your “Inner Tigger” out today! Here’s another way of thinking about it… How would your life change if everyone around you was happy to see YOU enter the room! What if your enthusiasm had that kind of effect on the atmosphere? I dare say your life would become even more incredible and you’d see doors open for you like never before.  All because of your enthusiasm!
It’s okay to be excited! It really is.

To your prosperity!

PS – I wrote the first draft of this weeks ago before our nation plunged itself into these heightened tensions around race, racial identity and recognition of the ugly history of slavery in the United States.  But how timely is this message of “love” for Believers!? If you call yourself by the name of Christ but can’t even hear your brother or sister in their pain, you have no love in you!

  1. Current events leave me asking “where is the love?” We hear so much talk but actions display different. I think the biggest problem is misguided freedom. Many think it’s a ticket to act as you like, say what you please, and others should just deal with it. Freedom comes with order, the part they’re missing.

Keep the wisdom coming sir. Looking forward to reading your book(s). God blesding you!☺

      • Idolizing “love” without the One who is LOVE! The world’s (man’s) definition, not His.

BTW, I tried to comment on the first two entries, twice, LOL! But they keep disappearing. Must be my phone. Can’t remember what I wrote so in short, they are excellent as well.

Oh, I did mention something about one of them being Simple. Practical. Yet Profound. Thought provoking. This can be applied to all three.

        And the typos…smh!

Thanks for sharing your gift. God bless you!☺

        • I didn’t mean to publish the other entries. I meant to schedule them all the rest of the eight parts for a week apart but hit “Publish” on accident on a few of them instead of “Schedule” as I meant to do. Thank you!!
